Charisma Factor – Rooted in Self Identity!
Executive Summary: Do you really know who you are?
The saying goes: You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy. Or, you can take the child of out of the inner city, but you can't take the inner city out of the child!
The more you know about another person - a client, a colleague, a new employee, your neighbor - the more you can begin to forecast their decisions and actions in certain circumstances. Many times, one can be utterly amazed by someone's actions, and in the professional arena, possibly alarmed at how one conducts business. A successful and quiet leader has volumes of character and charisma that is showcased by their every action.
The adage of “garbage in, garbage out” could be applied here. If a person comes from great stock, there is a greater likelihood that they will stand for something, not waiver under misguided public pressure, and become the fabric by which great things come and with which great people associate. With some (the emphasis is on “minimal” here, unfortunately) exceptions, the rule of thumb does carry, that looking at a person’s “roots” provides great insight as to future actions and non-actions by those in today’s global market place!

- Had to work as a youth without expectations of parental monetary payoff …
- Were disciplined for unacceptable behaviors, both in grammar school and home
- Are open to continuous learning and educational experiences …
- Proactively participate in their own personal and professional development …
- Take immediate responsibility for their daily lives …
- Open to constructive feedback on ways to improve themselves …
- Share liberally with those that sincerely wish to better themselves as well …
- Realize that adversity and challenges make one stronger if learning takes place …
- Never engage in the blame game of their destiny …
- Invest little to no time with self indulgent, self absorbed “me’istic” individuals …
- Have the guts to speak their mind and do not engage in the game of posturing for their self gain at others expense …
A person’s charisma factor is more often than not rooted in one’s self identity, and the early markers are set in stone … you can determine a person’s future by reflecting upon a person’s past. SO what does your identity really say to others?
